Come to Nantwich, Cheshire to Experience Peace and History

Among the many beautiful country villages in UK Nantwich, Cheshire is also one. It is located on the banks of River Weaver on Cheshire Plains. Joseph Priestley, who discovered oxygen, lived here once upon a time.

It is a market town which I full of history. There is no place better than the Nantwich Museum to prove this. The museum located in Pillory Street brings the past history to life. It also talks about the famous Nantwich Battle of 1644. It's not far from the Town Square or St. Mary's Parish church. You can take the train straight to the museum and there are buses too.

Herbert John Jones is the town's popular artist and you could take home some of his paintings. The village is filled with heritage listed buildings which are many years old. The Crown Hotel and Churche's Mansion are the oldest buildings.

Nantwich has seen it all through the years - battles, fires and industries. In 1583 the Tudor Nantwich Great Fire was a disastrous event that struck the village. It was an accident but burn homes for twenty days. Later help was needed to restore the place.

It belongs to the East Cheshire Council today and no longer a part of Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council. To catch the local events, the Civic Hall is a good place to start. For entertainment you also have the Lyceum Theater.

On the last Saturday of every month, the market town comes to life with heaps of fresh produce and local people busy selling and buying the local products. It is a great place to visit and enjoy the serenity at your leisure.

You can expect some great countryside, green pastures, wonderful canals and The Upper Weaver Valley. It is easily accessible by major Roadways and is well connected. Accommodation is available in Nantwich, Cheshire and you can relax with your feet up.
