Right now, though, you never know what is going to happen and lots of good workers are losing their jobs. That means that probably a lot less people will go on expensive vacations. Those that couldn't afford them in the first place, will most likely stay home or travel close to home.
There is one village
Laengenfeld- in Austria, that is trying to even things out.
They are inviting 200 people to come and stay during the first week of July 2009. During their stay they are asked to do 5 things:
1. test the village's hotels
2. eat at the restaurants
3. use the leisure facilities
4. at the end of their stay, fill out a survey
5. pay what they think their stay was worth!
When signing up for this Live Quality Check, they were asked to select
1. their preferred type of accommodation
2. indicate which type of activity they enjoy
- rafting
- hiking
- swimming
- biking
- culture
- spa
A total of sixteen accommodation providers, four restaurants and seven leisure facilities are participating in this endeavor. Over 400 people applied to be part of this. The village is a place of energy, both for locals and its guests. It is a thriving tourist resort - more than just a summer season gimmick, the project leaders are hopeful that the guests will shed some light on their perceived value.
